Can I make wheat free bread in a normal breadmaker?

Posted on January 6, 2010.

I was wondering if I can make wheat free bread in a breadmaker. My 2 year old son has just been diagnosed with a wheat allergy, and I’d love to make bread in the breadmaker.
Thanks

My son has celiac’s so we are wheat and gluten free. You will have to make sure that the breadmaker and inside of the machine are especially clean. We have made Red Mill gluten and wheat free bread in the machine several times and although it has to be set on a lighter crust setting, it came out fine.
