What are symptoms of food allergies?

Posted on February 9, 2010.

My lips have been extremely dry and chapped for the last week. They have often felt raw and dry when I wake up even if I put vasoline on at night. This morning they were swollen. I have been using the medicated chapstick and I thought it was working until this morning. Is this is a symptom of a food allergy? Should I see a doctor?

either its a reaction to the medicine or u may have a food allergy but if u had a food allergy your throat would swell upand have trouble breathing.so in that case see a doctor.if not sure stay away from seafood and nuts to be safe.and keep ur lips moist.

It could be a reaction. Call your doctor about it. Whenever I’d eat bananas my tongue would swell. Since I stopped eating them I don’t have that problem anymore. Good luck!

This could also be a combination of cold, dry winter weather and lack of vitamins.
